The first of its kind conference for women in the digital sector will be held on April 12 at the National Palace of Culture
The conference will gather business leaders, entrepreneurs, angel investors, representatives of European institutions and academic circles, which through their experience and achievements to inspire more girls and women to find their place in the digital world. It will also put a focus on the role of women in the technology sector and will discuss possible solutions to promote the entrepreneurial environment.
Bulgaria ranks first for women IT specialists with 30%, compared to 16% on average for the European Union, according to latest Eurostat data. Still, inequality between men and women in the digital sector remains high.
The event is organized with the partnership of Google, VMware, Dell EMC, EMAG, Uber, DSK Bank, SAP, Entrepreneurs Organization, MOVE.BG, United Partners, as well as a large number of Bulgarian and European organizations including Euroepean Center of Women in Technology, Women Who Code, Women Techmakers, Coding Girls, ABLE, BVCA, Endeavor, Elevel and Launchub.
The Bulgarian Center of Women in Technology (BCWT) is an organization that inspires, motivates and supports girls and women to find their place in the digital world. BCWT initiates and cooperates in the implementation of regional innovative projects, organizes trainings and thematic events and stimulates research collaboration, exchange of good practices and resource mobilization in the ICT sector.
